Social Enterprise (SE) may be an unfamiliar concept to most Thais but over the past 2-3 years, much progress has been made in generating understanding on the concept especially among Thai youths and those in the field of social development.

This is Gapminder's Chart that show the economic divide between the poorest and the richest part of Thailand

In the chart you can see the northeastern part of Thailand is the poorest part and Bangkok and the vicinities is the richest part. It has not been surprise information but the chart is prove what cause of the problem of this country.

As it goes with other countries all over the world, the digital age is not coming, but has already come. In Thailand, average population spend over 100 minutes a day on the Internet, while book reading takes only 39 minutes.

This particular fact has a direct implication on an approach to promote knowledge access and usage. Traditional libraries, while still a prime source of quality knowledge and in-depth information, have seen a decreasing visit. Many former library users now depend on the Internet, and younger generation do not even see a necessity of the library.

Change Fusion and Opendream were invited the meeting to present the SMS for disease surveillance project that has been implemented in cross border areas as the presentation below.
