6-7 February B.E. 2569, the Forest Guardians project team took part in the Invest for Nature Outing and Workshop at the Rural Reconstruction Foundation of Thailand under Royal Patronage in Chai Nat Province. The event provided a forum to develop strategies and coordinate collaboration among 34 representatives from 20 organisations, including the Mae Fah Luang Foundation, Asian Philanthropic Circle, 30x30 Thailand Coalition, WWF, RECOFTC, the Seub Nakhasathien Foundation, the Good Governance for Social Development and the Environment Institute (GSEI), and the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC).
The forum positioned Invest for Nature as a “central mechanism” for connecting and expanding collaboration on investment to restore and conserve nature fairly and in balance, particularly through the PES approach. This is the same approach used by the Forest Guardians project in its work with communities in the North. Taking part was therefore an opportunity to connect the project’s lessons and network with the national movement on investment in nature.
