Child Impact discusses adding “families” as a target group and setting up a Subdistrict-level mapping system with Khropkhrua Yim and Bureau 4

On 17 April B.E. 2569, the Child Impact team met online via Zoom with Bureau 4 and the Khropkhrua Yim Project to plan how to bring data on changes in children, collected using the standard assessment forms administered by the Khropkhrua Yim Project, into the Child Impact system.

The Khropkhrua Yim Project has been operating in 3 provinces and 30 Subdistricts. Each Subdistrict has several target groups that use different assessment forms. In B.E. 2569, the project will expand its operations to 200 Subdistricts, greatly increasing the volume of data that needs to be collected and entered into the system. The meeting therefore discussed two key obstacles. First, the system did not yet support “families” as a target group, for which the project uses a specific relationship assessment form. The Child Impact team has now added this target group and adapted the relationship assessment form for use in the system. Second, there are many data entries in Excel that need to be entered into Child Impact. The meeting agreed that a tool should be developed to import large amounts of data from Excel, designed for use by other projects as well as the Khropkhrua Yim Project.

Another point discussed was that the bureau’s evaluation team uses different formulas to calculate results, such as Mean and standard deviation, from those currently used by Child Impact. The meeting planned to consult the evaluation team to align the calculation formulas and presentation formats. A meeting with the bureau’s evaluation team was subsequently held on 8 May B.E. 2569, where it was agreed that the existing Excel system would remain the primary mechanism for collecting outcome data. Child Impact would serve as a catalogue of project and operating-area data, while assessment results processed by the bureau’s evaluation team would be transferred into Child Impact for display on the Dashboard, linked by Project id.

For displaying project locations on a map, the meeting agreed to use Subdistrict-level coordinates based on the area information already entered by each project, without requiring projects to enter specific lat/long coordinates. The development team has completed this part as well.

As a next step, the Child Impact team is designing a tool to transfer data from Excel into the system, drawing on data from both the Khropkhrua Yim Project and the bureau’s evaluation team, in accordance with the process agreed at the meeting on 8 May.
