Between July and August B.E. 2567, the Child Impact team brought the Jaidee Chatbot website—a digital friend that listens and invites students to share their experiences of overcoming stress during their school years—to 44 schools across 6 regions nationwide: the South (Chumphon, Ranong, Surat Thani, Krabi), the North (Chiang Rai, Lampang), the Central region (Bangkok, Samut Prakan, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Suphan Buri, Nakhon Pathom), the East (Chon Buri, Chachoengsao, Prachin Buri, Lop Buri), the West (Phetchaburi) and the Northeast (Nakhon Ratchasima, Sakon Nakhon, Udon Thani, Surin).
The participating schools included 17 large schools, 9 medium-sized schools and 18 small, expanded-opportunity or remote schools. They ranged from a school with just 10 students to a large school with more than 2,000 students. A total of 17,714 students took part in activities through the website; 8,703 of them completed the accompanying questionnaire, and 212 teachers helped lead the activities.
The participating schools described a range of issues in their local areas, including e-cigarettes and substance use; inequality and family problems affecting learning; low academic achievement; fighting and bullying; lack of discipline; and shortages of teachers and teaching materials. These issues provided the starting points for the team to design Jaidee Chatbot activities that respond to the context of each school.
