Thai farmers receive varying levels of support. Farmers growing cash crops such as maize or sugarcane under contract farming systems often receive support with technology, logistics and sales channels from large private companies and government agencies. Smallholder food-crop farmers, by contrast, receive far less support, and the tools available for cash crops often do not suit their circumstances.
Cropperz joined BC4C in cohort 9 (B.E. 2562) with an online platform that connects smallholder farmers directly with customers. Both companies and individual consumers can choose farmers based on the types of crops they want and order produce in advance. In addition to its online sales channel, Cropperz also offers the “Len Din” app, which helps farmers manage their farms, including bookkeeping and cost control, as well as podcasts providing specialised knowledge about different crops.
Cropperz aims to be an all-in-one solution for smallholder farmers, giving them more bargaining power and greater control over their own farms, which will contribute to long-term food security. Since B.E. 2562, Cropperz has supported more than 2,000 farmers.
