October B.E. 2567, the Thai Sea Watch Association (TSWA), a non-governmental organisation that has worked closely with Thai small-scale fishing communities since the B.E. 2523s, partnered with ChangeFusion as a co-founding partner to launch the 3-year Sea Guardians project (October B.E. 2567–October B.E. 2570). The ECCA Family Foundation has been a partner from the outset, along with several marine scientists.
Over three years, the project aims to support 45 small-scale fishing communities along the southern coast to manage marine resources themselves through locally managed marine areas (LMMA), while developing collaboration with government, a resource-based economy and scientific data monitoring systems, to demonstrate that community-led conservation is a sustainable path towards the global ocean conservation target of "30x30".
