Showcase, funding award ceremony and announcement of scale-up funding results

On Friday, 10 July B.E. 2569, from 08.30-15.00, the Project held an exhibition and grant award ceremony for “Top Grassroots Innovators, Year 5 (B.E. 2568-2569)” at the Suphannika Room, 4th floor, CH. Karnchang Public Company Limited. There were 43 attendees from 8 partner organisations. The event was livestreamed via the Facebook Page “Grassroots Innovators Ch. Karnchang” and Nation Online.
The event included a performance of songs about ethnic and community ways of life by Deepunu DeporBand; the launch of the 10 top Grassroots Innovators, with stories about how their work was created; the presentation of plaques and certificates to all 10 teams; a tour of the project exhibition; and the “Grassroots Innovators Inspiration Market”, where all 10 teams exchanged experiences with one another.
From 11.45-12.00, the 3 teams selected to receive scale-up grants of 100,000 baht each were announced: Tat Lep Sang Ban (Phetchabun Province – for developing a heated steel tool for bending bamboo poles to angles of up to 90 degrees); Automatic Smoke-Detection Sprinkler Firebreak (Lamphun Province – for building on an existing system that required someone to turn it on in person or operate it by mobile phone, transforming it into an automated system that activates sprinklers to extinguish forest fires); and Thorrani Art (Nakhon Ratchasima Province – for designing a new DIY Boxset product).
