ChangeFusion and the Foundation for Consumers (FFC) held a project launch meeting on 20 August B.E. 2569 to agree on the scope of their collaboration under a new project between FFC and ThaiHealth. The project aims to monitor e-cigarette sellers continuously each month on social media and online marketplaces, while also tracking consumer responses on social media to issues concerning medicines, health products, air purifiers and water filters, timed to coincide with product investigation press conferences by Chalad Sue.
ChangeFusion will design and carry out data collection, analysis and reporting on these topics. In this work cycle, AI will be used to help read and label content, identify clusters of sellers linked across platforms, and analyse advertising content to expand the keyword set and keep pace with sellers’ evasion tactics. Keywords will be updated monthly using data from the previous month. The main data collection tool will be ZocialEye for social media (Facebook, X, YouTube, IG, TikTok, Pantip), with AI search used for online marketplaces such as Shopee and Lazada.
The agreed work plan calls for e-cigarette monitoring reports to be produced every month in a format FFC can forward to ThaiHealth and relevant agencies, such as the Thai-RASFS system, by the 5th of each month throughout the 18-month project. Responses to issues concerning medicines, health products, air purifiers and water filters will be tracked as needed, timed to coincide with Chalad Sue's press conferences.
At the next progress meeting, FFC sent ChangeFusion details of the scope of work for improving its current website. This is additional work outside the social listening project. It covers migrating the existing database (consumer information, FFC's campaigns and sample complaint letters) to the current website, as well as restructuring web pages—for example, adding a complaint system in the website header, information and donation sections on the homepage, making new articles more prominent, and redesigning the “Maew Si” search system as a full-text search with filters. ChangeFusion is preparing a work plan and project proposal for this component based on the details received.
The next step is to plan the project's first data collection cycle.
