JOB Openning: Project Coordinator & MEL, Sea Guardians Project (Thailand)

Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Project Coordinator & MEL Specialist to lead efforts in conserving marine ecosystems through community-based initiatives. This role combines project coordination with monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) responsibilities.

You’ll work closely with local communities, partners, and stakeholders to ensure project success while tracking social, economic, and ecological impacts.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Coordination (50%)

  • Project Planning & Execution:

    • Collaborate with partners and field staff to align activities with project goals and timelines.

    • Organize regular team meetings, track progress, and resolve challenges.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:

    • Build strong relationships with community groups, government agencies, NGOs, and academic partners.

    • Represent the project at external forums and public events to promote marine conservation and community involvement.

  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Prepare progress reports, document activities, and share success stories.

    • Ensure compliance with project timelines, budgets, and donor requirements.

Monitoring & Evaluation (50%)

  • M&E Strategy & Framework Development:

    • Support the design and implementation of a comprehensive MEL framework to track social, economic, and ecological outcomes.

    • Integrate MEL processes into project design and ensure alignment with objectives.

  • Data Collection & Analysis:

    • Oversee field data collection and ensure accuracy and consistency.

    • Analyze data to assess project impact and inform decision-making.

  • Reporting & Adaptive Management:

    • Prepare impact assessments and MEL reports to guide strategy adjustments.

    • Share findings with stakeholders through engaging materials like case studies and infographics.

  • Capacity Building:

    • Train team members in MEL processes to strengthen overall project delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related fields.

  • Thai nationality

  • Location: Based in Songkhla, with monthly travel to Bangkok for stakeholder meetings.

  • 5–7 years of experience in project coordination, MEL, or community-based conservation (marine/coastal focus preferred).

  • Demonstrated experience in project management, local & international stakeholder engagement, and team coordination.

  • Good knowledge of M&E frameworks, data collection methodologies, and impact assessment, with experience in tracking social, economic, and ecological indicators.

  • Proven ability to manage projects, engage diverse stakeholders, and coordinate teams.

  • Strong knowledge of MEL frameworks and experience tracking social, economic, and ecological indicators.

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Thai (preferred).

  • Passion for marine conservation and supporting small-scale fishing communities
